Infant and Toddler Lead Teacher in Early Childhood Education

Overview:
We are seeking a nurturing and passionate Infant Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for working with infants and toddlers, and a deep understanding of early childhood development. As a Lead Infant Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a safe and engaging learning environment, developing age-appropriate curriculum, and providing individualized care to meet the needs of each child.

  • Support our success by partnering with center staff and leadership to achieve goals around enrollment, accreditation, and engagement.
  • Ensure the daily care of every child by following all licensing guidelines and implementing all company standards.
We are most interested in adding to our team Early Childhood Professionals who bring their A-game to the table and have a passion for nurturing young minds and who have:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in ECE
  • Associate degree in ECE/Child Development a CDA, or a Career Pathways Level 3 certification
  • Experience working in a licensed childcare facility strongly preferred.
Responsibilities:
  • Create and maintain a clean, safe, organized, and nurturing environment for infants and toddlers.
  • Develop a plan and implement The Creative Curriculum in a manner that supports the intellectual, social-emotional, physical, and language development of each child enrolled in his or her classroom, including individualization and the Ohio Early Learning Standards.
  • Observe and assess children's development and create individualized plans to support growth and development.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress and development.
  • Ensure compliance with all licensing and accreditation standards, including Early Head Start, Step Up to Quality, ODJFS, CACFP, and Water Lily.
  • Attend regular staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Manage a classroom of children, including a daily schedule that encourages a child’s learning through discovery, curiosity, creativity, and a healthy self-concept that leads to school readiness.
  • Keep accurate files on children and activities.
  • Assist with coaching, training, mentoring, and development of assistant teachers or floaters.
  • Utilize best practices and positive discipline techniques with children to support their growth and understanding of self and others and promote resilience.
  • Be responsible for maintaining required training hours and educational credentials.
Qualifications:
  • A degree in early childhood education or a related field is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Associate Degree in ECE/Child Development a CDA, or a Career Pathways Level 3 certification
  • A minimum of one years of experience working with infants and toddlers in a licensed early childhood education setting
  • Knowledge of child development and best practices in early childhood education
  • Ability to create a warm and nurturing environment for children.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with parents, colleagues, and administrators.
  • Ability to meet state licensing requirements, including background checks and immunization.
  • Knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children
  • Work well in a co-working classroom with shared responsibilities of all classroom duties.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.
