Overview:
We are seeking a versatile and flexible Floater to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children of all ages and a willingness to work in a variety of classrooms as needed. As a Floater, you will be responsible for providing support to lead teachers, assisting with curriculum implementation, and ensuring a safe and nurturing learning environment to children of all ages in our program.
Our Teachers:
- Create positive, fun and interactive learning experiences in clean and age appropriate classrooms
- Support our success by partnering with center staff and leadership to achieve goals around enrollment, accreditation, and engagement
- Ensure the daily care of every child by following all licensing guidelines and implementing all company standards.
- High School Diploma
- Experience working in a licensed childcare facility strongly preferred
- Understand, participate, and support quality standards as defined by compliance with all licensing and accreditation standards including Early Head Start, Step Up to Quality, ODJFS,CACFP, and Water Lily
- Rotate among classrooms and provide support and coverage for teachers.
- Maintain a clean, safe, organized and nurturing classroom environment
- Participate in all activities with children
- Assist with activity planning and preparation of materials and supplies for daily use.
- Support Lead Teacher with capturing observation information and for assessment information to assist with implementation of lesson plans to advance a child’s development.
- Complete tasks assigned in a timely manner to ensure the smooth operation of the program.
- Utilize best practices and positive discipline techniques with children, to support children’s growth and understanding of self and others and promote resilience.
- Responsible for obtaining required training hours and maintaining educational credentials.
- Communicate directly with lead teacher to achieve success for the child.
Qualifications:
- Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency, including background checks and immunization records.
- A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; a degree in early childhood education or a related field is preferred.
- Passion for working with young children in a licensed early childhood education setting.
- Willingness to learn child development and best practices in early childhood education.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work well in a co-working environment with shared responsibilities for all classroom duties.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.
- Willingness to work in a variety of classrooms with children of all ages.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing needs and schedules.
- Willingness to obtain CDA in 12 months.
