Work under the direction of a Children’s Program Coordinator and with other Teachers to implement out of school programs for Over-the-Rhine children in grades PreK – 6.  Lead a class and perform stated duties.
 
Duties:

  1. Establish and maintain an age-appropriate safe haven in the children’s rooms.
  1. Provide a safe physical, emotional, and spiritual environment.
  2. Teach and model godly relationship qualities and dynamics and follow the Wesley Way.
  3. Decorate the rooms with encouraging, healthy, and challenging items.
  4. Perform cleaning tasks to ensure clean spaces inside and outside.
  1. Engage students through lessons and activities while incorporating the 40 Developmental Assets.
  1. Consider learning styles and capabilities when planning and teaching.
  2. Stimulate spiritual, emotional, intellectual and social growth of children.
  3. Provide or oversee a daily enrichment session.
  4. Have materials for Bible study and Christian growth available.
  1. Equip students with academic and life skills.
  1. Provide study space and homework help.
  2. Have necessary school supplies on hand and ready for use.
  3. Teach study and organizational skills.
  4. Teach life skills.
  1. Encourage students through positive classroom management.
  1. Nurture students by witnessing to Christ’s constant healing presence.
  2. Consistently apply our Smart Classroom Management plan.
 
Qualifications:
Be a disciple of Jesus Christ.
Love children and fully engage with them.
Be a high school graduate.
Value integrity, teamwork, adaptability, cheerfulness, trustworthiness, and nurturing.
 
Requirements:
Work 11:30 am – 5:30 pm, Monday – Friday, during the school year.
Work 10:30 am – 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday, during the summer.
Attend weekly Team and Staff meetings.
