A night of elegant drama filled with twisted energy -- a masquerade ball in Over-the-Rhine like you have never experienced!
2nd Annual -- 700 people attended in 2013!
The Christian Moerlein Brewery will be transformed into a mysterious spooky hall to host the second annual Malice Ball. Transcend into a frightful ambiance and enter a foggy, spectacular underworld. Entertainment includes DJ Matt Joy, dancing, spooky photo booth by FOTOFOCUS, makeup and styling by Rebel Face Makeup and Kelly Yurko, UC/CCM Associate Professor, Makeup and Wig Design, and bars staffed by our favorite bartenders from Bakersfield and The Eagle.
What to wear? Embrace the dark and elegant theme of the evening and create your own stylish chic look. Click here to download a coupon for Cappel's. Masks and Makeup artists will be on hand from 8 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. to help complete the frightful look. Or dazzle us with a traditional Halloween costume. All are welcome to enter the costume contest for a chance to win prizes -- best overall costume prize is an overnight stay at the 21C Museum Hotel! Other prizes include a gift basket from The Yoga Bar, tickets to the Know Theatre and Ensemble Theatre, and gift card to The Eagle.
How to Enter the Costume Contest:
Visit the Judges Corner between 8pm and 9:30pm, register and choose the category in which you wish to enter, and go in front of the judges to present your costume! If the judges advance you to the final round (on stage), they will let you know. Our judges hail from Ensemble Theatre, Know Theatre, and Brave Berlin! Categories are scariest, funniest, best theme / couple, best masquerade, and best overall. Remember, we're all here to have FUN, and we are doing our very best to make the costume contest a good experience for you!
