An unforgettable night of mirror, illusion and mystery -- a masquerade ball in Over-the-Rhine like you have never experienced!
3rd Annual -- 800+ people attended in 2014!
The Malice Ball returns to Over-the-Rhine for an unforgettable night of mirror, illusion and mystery. Dance with the sounds of DJs Matt Joy and Kenneth Wright, enjoy specialty cocktails and join the tradition with hundreds of costumed revelers on Halloween Night at the largest masquerade party in Cincinnati.
The Christian Moerlein Brewery will be transformed into a mysterious spooky hall to host the third annual Malice Ball. Transcend into a frightful ambiance and enter a foggy, spectacular underworld. Entertainment includes DJs Matt Joy and Kenneth Wright, dancing, spooky photo booth, touch up makeup by Rebel Face Makeup, and bars staffed by our favorite bartenders from Bakersfield and Krueger's.
NEW! Try the Malice Ball Brew by Christian Moerlein, a small batch rye brown ale made especially for the Malice Ball 2015! You'll find the brew on tap at Bakersfield and The Eagle, and at Findlay Market beer garden the weekend of Oct 10-11!
What to wear? Embrace the dark and elegant theme of the evening and create your own stylish chic look. Download a special Malice Ball coupon for Cappel's here. Masks and a Makeup artist will be on hand from 8:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. to help complete your look. All are welcome to enter the costume contest for a chance to win prizes.
How to Enter the Costume Contest:
Visit the Twine. It photo booth between 8:30pm and 9:45pm as you enter the main doors, register, and have your photo taken. Judges will review all entries and bring the 10 finalists to the stage for the final round of judging with the help of the audience. All registered participants in the costume contest (not just top 10) are invited to join in a parade down the "red carpet" and should meet in front of the stage at 10:00pm. Prizes will go to the top three costumes with an eye for creativity, effort and execution. Remember, we're all here to have FUN, and we are doing our very best to make the costume contest a good experience for you! The Malice Ball is a diverse, community Halloween Party raising money for the OTR Chamber’s Business First Program. When you’re preparing your costumes, please keep in mind our goal of having fun and fostering creativity in a tasteful way.
Must be 21 years of age or older to attend The Malice Ball. No physical tickets will be issued; names will be checked in the day of the event. Tickets are non-refundable.
The famous chips and guacamole from Bakersfield, Holtman's Donuts, and some Lucy Blue will be complimentary, plus Hungry Bros food truck will be parked in front to keep you fueled for the evening's revelry (available for purchase)!
Proceeds benefit the Over-the-Rhine Chamber's Business First Grant Program.
