What do Bach, Chopin, Shostakovich, and George Crumb have in common? Salon 21 hosts pianist Susan Yang who will present a concert that reveals hidden connections across three centuries of composers by pairing unexpected preludes and miniature pieces and examining them side by side. Ultimately, Yang’s performance aims to evoke a sense of familiarity across the musical and generational spectrum. Despite the presentation of extremely different musical styles, the listener might be surprised to recognize the subtle connections between the pairings.
